A Marshal leads a Black Templar Crusade, second only to the High Marshal. A marshal can be compared to a company commander, although the number of Space Marines under his command may vary. Black Templar crusade fleets are often led by an experienced Marshal—a role similar to that of captains in other Chapters—who oversees the formation of battle and commands their troops from the front lines.
Marshals are selected from among the Sword Brethren, the Black Templar’s elite troops, through ritual combat, with the winner receiving the rank upon approval of the High Marshal. Only once did it become known that this permit was denied during the Gervarht cancellation of M36.
As Codex-compliant Chapters take to the battlefield under the command of Captains, the Black Templars are led by the fearsome Marshals, whose commanding presence enhances the abilities of the Space Marines who fight at their side. Armed with a power sword or power ax and a plasma pistol or automatic flamethrower, this mighty warrior is an ideal choice for HQ. You can also choose between two heads for this Marshal – both are helmetless, one wears a rebreather while the other wears a hoop Crown.
The kit comes as 23 plastic components with which to assemble one Black Templar Marshal, and is supplied with a Citadel 40mm Round base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly.
